AVIATION CAREER
I started my aviation career in Qantas between 2013-2016 and then moved to Air Frontier in 2016 flying a small piston Aircraft until 2018. I then worked for Skippers Aviation on the Dash 8 from 2018 to 2019. After losing my Class 1, I now work in a Flight Planning/Operations role for Nauru Airlines.
WHAT WAS YOUR GENERAL HEALTH PRIOR TO YOUR MEDICAL CONDITION?
My health was fine throughout my career, there was absolutely no warning of my condition. Then one day at home, I had a seizure. I then lost all my medicals indefinitely.
WHY WERE YOU GROUNDED?
I have an Arteriovenous Malformation (Brain AVM) that I was born with and was sitting on the left side of my brain. I was 24 and had been working as a pilot for only four years.
WHY IS LOSS OF LICENCE COVER SO IMPORTANT?
You never know what may happen in life. If something ever goes wrong, you want to know that you’re financially secure.
MBF EXPERIENCE
My experience was fantastic! The process was easy and the staff were very helpful and empathetic. The MBF has allowed me to move on with my life and repay the investment I’ve made in my flying career.
